Rare June 1951 Volkswagen Beetle Split-Window, instantly recognisable by its split rear window, which earned it the nickname “Bretzelfenster”. Finished in Chestnut Brown, it also features the distinctive ventilation flaps found on Deluxe models for the 1951 and 1952 model years. This Beetle has remained in the same family since 1971. From 1951 to 1970, it had just one owner in the Netherlands. It underwent a complete restoration in 1985, including a two-tone paint finish similar to that found on the convertibles, differing from its original brown colour. Non-matching numbers. It is fitted with a Volkswagen 1200 Type 1 engine producing 30 hp. The engine number corresponds to a unit from an October 1956 Oval Window Beetle. Stored in a dry garage, the car has not been driven for 25 years. Recommissioning will therefore be required before it can be used.
