Its 4.5-liter V8, elegant lines and comfort have made it one of the most appreciated classic Mercedes among collectors, notably in the United States. This example was first registered on 14 March 1973 in California. The Histovec report (April 2023) shows several changes of owner with no opposition, and no theft report. It was the subject of an insurance appraisal in September 2018, describing it as in very good condition. This is the second time we have sold this car. The current owner acquired it in August 2023 through our services. Servicing is documented from 2015 to 2026 by several workshops in the region: S.A.V.I.A. and Techstar Ouest (Mercedes-Benz network), then workshops in the Bouches-du-Rhone. Condition: This Mercedes-Benz 450 SL is presented in very good condition. The bodywork is painted sage green, with a uniform appearance in the photos. The chrome trim and the trunk star are bright. The vehicle comes with a hardtop, whose sealing gasket has been adjusted. In April 2024, the left front door, the right front wing, the right rear wing, the left rear wing and the soft-top rail were repainted, with replacement of the hardtop gasket. The car comes with its hardtop. The cabin is trimmed in cognac leather upholstery with vertical stitching and matching headrests, well preserved and neat in appearance. The owner tells us that the clock has been disconnected so as not to drain the battery when the car is parked. The V8 was serviced in December 2025. In 2021, the car also had a complete service at a Mercedes-Benz dealership. The cooling system was cleaned and the four control arm bushings were replaced with original Mercedes parts. The car drives soundly and the automatic gearbox shows no malfunction.
