Classy, stylish and chique back then and now. The car now on offer is a 1964 Citroen DS19 Cabriolet 'Usine' by Chapron. A completely restored and rebuilt Convertible that has seen just test kilometers since restoration. The car was completely restored by Citroen specialists 'Citro Classique' in the Netherlands: Beautiful bodywork, all new trim, new glass, new leather and completely restored and rebuilt technically. Engine, transmission, hydraulics - everything. Years ago, in a barn in a sleepy village in France, a genuine DS Cabriolet was found by a Citroen Specialist. The car was very rusty and not completely anymore - but a genuine Chapron should live on. The chassis and leftovers we're bought and brought to the Netherlands and from there on the restoration from scratch started. The car therefore wears an 'Usine' VIN number, starting with 427xxxx. The 'Usine' are Citroen's factory sold Convertibles and these had their own VIN-range. Completely Restored & Rebuilt The body was restored and rebuilt beautifully. Beautiful panelgaps, beautiful metalwork performed. The car wears a beautiful coat of AC111 Gris Sahara. On Cabriolets the dashboard wears the bodycolor too. The wheels have been restored, fitted with the Convertible specific hubcaps in new condition and Michelin classic tyres. All new glass, new seals, new trim, new headlights, tailligths and so forth. The interior is all brand new. Beautiful deep blue leather on the seats, rear seat and doorpanels. High quality workmanship, high quality materials and beautifully fitted. Beautiful polished stainless steel trim on the sills accentuate the DS's interior. The softtop is all new, both the frame as the top - works and looks excellent - a nice blue tonneau cover is present too.Technically nothing was left alone. The DS19 engine was rebuilt as well as everything around it; startermotor, alternator, new 123 ignition, rebuilt carburator and new hydraulic pump. Ofcourse a new waterpump, thermostat, radiator, all hoses and much much more. The engine runs nice and smooth and the 'Hydraulique' semi-automatic gearbox is very easy to shift - this was rebuilt as well. A 1964 DS should have the LHS (hydraulic fluid) system, that fluid isnt very beloved and therefore this car was converted to the user friendly LHM system but retains the look of the LHS system. Steering rack, pump, accumulator and all suspension spheres are new parts and this Convertible offers the comfortable 'gliding' level of Citroen comfort, combined with open top cruising. 1964 Citroen DS19 Cabriolet 'Usine' now Available.
