The car has spent its early years in Germany before going to France circa 1997 and staying there until 2025 where the car was purchased by the current owner and imported back to Germany. The current owner registered it as a classic vehicle with historic plates (H-Kennzeichen). One of the most compelling aspects of this example is the extensive work carried out over recent years: In December 2019, the car underwent a comprehensive engine and clutch overhaul at Centre Service PORSCHE Bayonne in Anglet, France, with the invoice totalling €23,531.86. The work included extensive refurbishment of the M64 engine, including replacement of piston rings, camshafts, rocker arms, valves and valve guides. The timing system was renewed with new chain tensioners, timing chains and timing covers, while the oil pump, head gaskets, seals and O-rings were also replaced. The cylinder heads were refurbished and resurfaced. At the same time, the car received a new dual-mass clutch kit, flywheel and slave cylinder. A further substantial programme was carried out in October 2024 at Garage Fel SAS in France, at a recorded mileage of 204,533 km. The work included refurbishment and repainting of the wheels, and a comprehensive restoration of the electric sunroof mechanism, including the sunroof cable. Additional sealing, upholstery and wheel-alignment work was also carried out. Between 2019 and 2025, more than €58,000 was invested in documented mechanical refurbishment, engine and clutch work, interior restoration, wheel refurbishment, sunroof restoration and German historic homologation.
