Onder leiding van Sir William Lyons werd de succesvolle voorganger grondig verfijnd, met grotere ruiten, een bredere spoorbreedte achter en een nog elegantere uitstraling. De Mk2 combineerde luxe en comfort met prestaties die destijds hun weerga niet kenden, en groeide uit tot een van de meest iconische Britse auto's van de jaren zestig. De 3.8 was de absolute topversie. Onder de lange motorkap van dit exemplaar uit 1966 ligt de legendarische XK zescilinder van 3.8 liter, met dubbele bovenliggende nokkenas en twee SU-carburateurs, dezelfde motorfamilie die Jaguar ook in de E-Type groot maakte. Het zwarte stuurwiel met Jaguar-embleem en het centrale instrumentenpaneel met tuimelschakelaars en klassieke klokken ademen pure jaren-zestig-sfeer.
